I was born in Baghdad, Iraq in 1980. Came to Canada in 2005. Currently living in Calgary, Alberta.
I'm a Mandaean, and there are not many here in Calgary besides our family.
When I'm not working; then I would be researching an idea. Which usually involves some kind of a modification to my car.
I have a 2011 BMW 328i N52 which I bought brand new back in 2011. And I have been working on a very custom headunit project that's been ongoing for far too long now.
Bought myself a coding app for BMW and I have been helping many people modify and diagnose their cars.
Growing up, and until 1990, I traveled to so many places. My father was a chief officer and later became a captain working onboard the Iraqi Oil Tanker ships.
I was onboard a super tanker in the mid 80's sailing the Amazon river. And I have crossed the Atlantic ocean twice in one trip with my family. Which is not something many people can say!
We visited many ports around the world. The sea and ocean holds a special place in my heart.
I had the opportunity to see the world's longest oil tanker, the Seawise Giant in 1990 docked at a port in France.
It was only a few hundred meters away from our ship. A sight I would never forget. I only hope that one day I would be able to revisit some of the places I have been to with my wife and kids.
I'm fluent in Arabic and English, writing and speaking. I do, once in a while, write some poetry in Arabic.
